Alexandra has been part of the team since 2011. Equipped with meticulous attention to detail and many years of experience, she stays on top of things even in the busiest times. She has travelled around Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia, and South Africa, visiting many lodges and camps. When climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Alexandra learned to respect the demanding trek up the highest mountain in Africa and is proud to have made it to Stella Point. As an animal lover and resolute advocate of animals’ rights, she cares deeply about Africa’s wildlife and promotes the values of sustainable tourism.

Arno Snellenberg

Arno first arrived in Tanzania in 2004. Growing up in the Netherlands, he came to live and work at the shores of the beautiful Lake Victoria. Riding his bike through downtown Mwanza like a true Dutchman would, he realised he had fallen in love with Tanzania. Since that day, Arno has travelled and worked around the country and the continent. One of his adventures took him across Tanzania by train, from Mwanza to Dar es Salaam. He finds the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba to be the perfect spots to dust-off from safari adventures. Today, he looks forward to creating exciting itineraries with and for you, hoping that you will share his love for this colourful and vibrant corner of the world.

Anastasia Weise

Anastasia grew up on the North Sea coast of Germany. After exploring Asia and South America she has since changed her place of residence to the Two Oceans city of Cape Town in South Africa. Here, she uses her master’s degree in international tourism and her working experience in event management and tour guiding to design and organise tailor-made trips to East Africa for her guests. Anastasia has visited Tanzania’s and Kenya’s great national parks on guided safaris. With a thorough understanding of activities and accommodations available, she always looks for the perfect fit for her guests.

Mia Hald

As a tour guide for a Danish tour operator, Mia spent 10 years exploring Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, Europe, and China. After many years on the road, she is now an integral part of our office team of travel experts; her experience as a guide has taught her how important it is to communicate a clear picture of each trip to her guests. Passing on the joy of travel comes naturally to Mia as she loves spending time out and about in nature. She is a passionate photographer and will bring her camera wherever she goes.

Vana Lingham

Vana was born and raised in Cape Town and has explored many areas of Eastern and Southern Africa from here: From Tarangire National Park and the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar and the remote Southern Circuit of Tanzania; from South Africa to Namibia, eSwatini, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and Malawi. She even met the mountain gorillas of Rwanda. When planning a trip with her guests, she relives the experiences of her own travels, sharing many tips and favourite places. Vana has always worked in travel and tourism, but still enjoys the challenge of learning about new destinations and activities – always looking for the perfect dream trip for her guests.

Emilia Enger

Emilia, originally from Germany, studied Social Work, which led her to Moshi, Tanzania, where she worked as a social worker for nearly a year. This experience ignited her passion for the country and its people, motivating her to learn Kiswahili and join an NGO.

Emilia joined our team in 2025. She is a natural people person with a deep love for travel. She enjoys helping individuals plan personalised trips to Africa. She says, ‘Travelling brings me happiness, and my job allows me to share my love for travel with people from around the world.’

She especially enjoys assisting guests in planning trips to Tanzania, saying, ‘A safari in Tanzania is an adventure of a lifetime, surrounded by stunning landscapes, including national parks, mountains, and breathtaking beaches.’

Gustavo Godoy

Gustavo, originally from Brazil, fell in love with Cape Town and decided to stay in 2007.

He has travelled extensively. His favourite destinations are Namibia, for its stunning scenery, and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, for its high concentration of wildlife in an incredible ecosystem. Yet, he still dreams of seeing the mountain gorillas of Rwanda.

With a degree in tourism and hospitality, his passion for technology and systems led to ten years of experience managing websites and booking software.

In 2023, he joined our team to manage our Tourplan booking systems, helping our travel experts create unique itineraries for our guests as smoothly as possible.

Ultimately, he enjoys the feeling of helping people from around the world to visit and experience the incredible variation of people, cultures, landscapes, and wildlife of the African continent.

Anri van der Merwe

Anri was born in South Africa and lived in Pretoria for twenty-nine years before moving to Somerset West in Cape Town in 2015.

Our team shares a love for travel and people, and Anri is no different. She has travelled to Germany, Singapore, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, and Lesotho.

Having earned a degree in Tourism Management and an Aviation Quality and Safety Officer diploma, she has held roles as an aviation quality and safety officer, a senior administrator, and a product manager.

In 2023, she joined our team, bringing a passion for systems and software. Although she doesn’t work directly with our guests, she enjoys liaising with our long-standing partners such as accommodations all across sub-Saharan Africa, creating systems that allow our country experts to design unique itineraries for our guests.

Chaise Hartman

Originally from Cape Town, he has travelled extensively within South Africa, including along the Garden Route and Route 62.

He considers the Garden Route his favourite destination, with its stunning landscapes, dramatic coastline, protected wilderness areas and charming towns.

Chaise joined our team after graduating from high school. In his role as Sales Support Administrator, Chaise enjoys learning new systems and processes and takes pride in being someone colleagues can depend on.

What excites him about working in travel and tourism is the chance to share his beautiful country with others and to explore the stunning destinations in Southern Africa.

Originally from the Northern Cape, Kaylin has also lived in Strand, Somerset West, and Kuils River.

Her favourite place in South Africa is the Kgalagadi in the Northern Cape. Here, the vast landscapes, abundant wildlife, and peaceful atmosphere gave her a true sense of connection with nature.

Kaylin studied Project Management and Administration. She joined our team, bringing a wealth of experience from roles in payroll, reception, sales, and logistics.

After living and working in Tanzania, Arno continued to explore the region making his way to neighbouring Kenya. From the hot and arid Samburu to the lush Aberdares and the wide plains of the Masai Mara – Arno has travelled Kenya extensively. Always looking for intimate camps and boutique lodges for his guests to experience an authentic safari. At the white beaches of Diani Beach he will only ever advise you on a room with ocean view, because he himself wouldn’t want to wake up any other way.

Vivian Khanyanji

Vivian’s favourite park is the Masai Mara due to its wide variety of species, game drives that offer incredible wildlife encounters, and stunning sunsets. In the near future, she is determined to visit Namibia to enjoy its expansive landscapes and low population density that provide a sense of tranquillity away from the busy world.

Vivian joined our team in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tours Operations and experience in recruitment and human resources. She enjoys her role as a reservationist because she finds the challenge of travel planning stimulating and fulfilling, especially as each trip is unique.

She takes pride in finding the best solutions for individual guests and feels privileged to be part of someone’s journey, helping them create lasting memories.

Veronica Mathenge

Veronica was born in Nanyuki, Kenya, but lives in Nairobi. She has travelled extensively within her home country and in Tanzania and Zanzibar. If given the chance, she would love to visit South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana.

In 2022, she joined our team with qualifications in travel and tourism management and experience in roles such as Tour Consultant, Sales Executive, and Market Specialist.

She finds working in travel and tourism very satisfying and is motivated by a love of travel and a desire to help others experience the world. She describes being able to curate unique experiences for people to help them discover new cultures, cuisines, and landscapes as incredibly rewarding.

Mercy was born and raised in Kenya and has lived in various regions, including western, central, and coastal areas. She has travelled in Tanzania and Uganda and looks forward to further expanding her horizons.

She has a bachelor’s degree in finance and nearly two decades of experience in accountancy. In 2023, she joined our team as a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK) while pursuing a Master’s in Counselling Psychology.

Mercy enjoys the complex planning, teamwork, and accuracy required in tourism to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Whenever she has time off, she loves visiting Kenya’s tropical coastline to enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches, delicious seafood and the warm, turquoise water of the Indian Ocean.

Martin Mutinda

Born and raised in Kenya, Martin has lived in several regions across the country, including Malindi, Ukunda, Kitale, Nyeri, and Nairobi. These experiences have given him a deep appreciation for Kenya’s diverse landscapes and vibrant cultures.

He joined Africa-Experience as an Accounts Assistant in Kenya, where he combines his love of numbers with his enthusiasm for travel and tourism.

Martin enjoys the variety his role offers, ensuring financial processes run efficiently while supporting a team that helps guests discover Africa’s extraordinary destinations.

Among the places he has travelled, Kenya’s coastal region stands out as a favourite for its sandy beaches and easygoing atmosphere. He also treasures his time in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, where the vast plains and incredible wildlife left a lasting impression.

Theunis Botha

Born in Ladybrand, South Africa, he grew up in several towns across the country, studied in Cape Town, and also spent time living in Australia.

Before moving into IT, Theunis worked as a tour guide, leading group tours through many African countries, including Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

These experiences gave him a profound appreciation for Africa’s landscapes and cultures. His personal highlights include the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda, and the Garden Route in South Africa.

Theunis joined Africa-Experience, bringing with him a lifelong passion for technology and a deep love for travel.

As ICT Manager, Theunis enjoys combining his two passions: exploring new technologies and enhancing the travel experience, especially within Africa’s unique and ever-evolving context.

Benjamin Brand

Benjamin was born in South Africa to German parents and grew up in a trilingual environment—speaking German at home, attending an Afrikaans school, and completing his studies in English.

His love for tourism began in childhood. Having spent his early years on a farm in South Africa, he eagerly acted as an interpreter at local attractions when his German-speaking family visited.

Later, he explored southern and eastern Africa, Europe, and the United States, gaining valuable cross-cultural and industry experience.

After earning his BA in International Relations and Diplomacy, Benjamin joined the company in 2014, advancing through roles in sales, marketing, and operations, notably serving as Operations Manager in Namibia.

Today, as General Manager, he leads a superb team with vision and operational excellence.

For Benjamin, tourism is more than just travel; it’s about sharing meaningful, transformative African experiences with the world.

Marlene Tritschler

Marlene started working in the tourism industry in 2005 as a trainee for a small tour operator, specialising in trips to Southern and East Africa. Over the years she worked as a Sales and Product Manager, organising self-drive trips in Namibia, South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique as well as safaris in Botswana and Tanzania. On her visits to these countries she got to know the places, as well as the people, and is now one of our very experienced consultants.

Dirk Reiche

Dirk joined our team in 2023 after a diverse career as a chef, guide, marketing manager, and driving instructor. Born in Johannesburg, Dirk lived in Umhlanga near Durban in South Africa, Windhoek in Namibia, and Winterberg in Germany. His passion for Africa led him to travel through East Africa and Congo. Naturally, his path led him to become a guide for self-drive tours, travelling extensively throughout Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia, gaining proficiency as a level two off-roading instructor. His favourite places to recommend include the Skeleton Coast National Park for its allure of adventure and the Savuti in the Chobe National Park for incredible wildlife and stunning scenery. He is a natural people person, relishing the opportunity to share his knowledge of Africa with others, which will shine through when you contact Dirk. Dirk speaks English, German, Afrikaans and Funi-galore.

Liz Schoombee

Liz, born and raised in Namibia, has travelled extensively throughout the country. Her diverse background includes professional catering and preschool teaching. However, her passion for exploring new places, good food, photography, and seeking adventure led her to pursue a career as a travel expert for Namibia and Botswana. Liz joined us in 2024, and enjoys designing unique experiences for her guests, especially when they report that they have had a great time. Her favourite place to recommend is the Waterberg Plateau in Namibia during March when wildflowers bloom, and the landscapes are lush and green. She also loves the Caprivi (Zambezi Region), Victoria Falls, and the parks in Namibia and Botswana. As you will discover, Liz is a natural people person who goes the extra mile to ensure her guests enjoy unforgettable experiences. Liz speaks English, German and Afrikaans.

Sven Schmidt

As our Operations Manager, Sven is in charge of the seamless running of all our tours. When you return home after your trip and say: “Everything worked out perfectly”, then Sven has had a big part in it. He joined our team as tour guide, taking our guests around his home country Namibia. He knows the ins and outs of travel around Namibia. After years on the road, he has now settled to work from our Windhoek office. His great passion is photography for which Namibia is a rewarding destination. You will meet Sven for your briefing before you embark on your tour.

Sven speaks English, and German and is currently learning Oshiwambo.

Daniba Ochurus

Daniba was born and raised in Windhoek; before joining Namibia-Experience in 2024, she worked as an office administrator, receptionist, and personal assistant.

Being part of the operations team allows her to appreciate the dynamic nature of the travel industry, which connects people with new experiences, cultures, and destinations.

Her favourite Namibian destinations are Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, where the desert meets the ocean. This coastal town features a mix of different styles of architecture, breathtaking beaches, and thrilling activities like dune boarding and quad biking. For Daniba, it truly exemplifies the diversity of Namibia’s landscapes.

Franziska Tjihuno

Franziska was born and raised in Omaruru, Namibia, and spent a year in Okahandja before relocating to Windhoek in 2019.

She joined our team in 2024, bringing valuable experience as a receptionist for a tour operator.

Franziska enjoys the fast-paced and ever-changing nature of the industry while meticulously organising tours that allow our guests to discover Namibia’s exciting travel destinations and accommodations.

Her favourite place in Namibia is Etosha National Park, and she enjoys organising tours to this incredible ecosystem, knowing how much the guests will appreciate the experience here.

Ollah was born and raised in Swakopmund, Namibia, and has beautiful memories of the town’s stunning beaches, fresh seafood, and relaxed atmosphere. Ollah recommends visiting the Kalahari for its captivating red dunes and expansive landscapes, as well as exploring Damaraland for its ancient rock art and stunning natural scenery. She has worked in the tourism industry since 2017 while pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Law degree. She joined our team in 2024 and is passionate about sharing Namibia’s landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage with her guests. Manon Hartmann

Since the early 2000s Manon has been part of the travel industry and still enjoys every day. Doing her bit to make our guests dream of travel in Africa come true, makes it a rewarding experience. As Reservations Manager, she leads our reservations team, staying on top of things even during the busiest of seasons. Originally Dutch but having lived most of her life in South Africa, she appreciates the region’s natural beauty and diversity. On her travels around Namibia, she enjoys the wide open spaces, quiet moments and the starry night sky.

Linda Schoerger

Linda, born in Kenya and raised in Mombasa, joined our team in 2013 as an East African reservationist. With extensive travel experience in sub-Saharan Africa, she later expanded her focus to include southern African destinations like Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana. Linda enjoys working with a team to help guests plan their dream trips and loves organising every detail while deepening her knowledge of these regions. In 2024, Linda was promoted to Assistant Reservations Manager for South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. She supports the Operations and Reservations Managers by managing daily bookings, ensuring quality control, optimising resources, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Linda also handles block bookings, maintains supplier relationships, and oversees team training. She is fluent in English, Swahili, and Luo.

She values working closely with our Travel Experts and travel partners, helping to turn well-planned journeys into seamless travel experiences.

Chanté Martinus

Gustavo, originally from Brazil, fell in love with Cape Town and decided to stay in 2007.

He has travelled extensively. His favourite destinations are Namibia, for its stunning scenery, and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, for its high concentration of wildlife in an incredible ecosystem. Yet, he still dreams of seeing the mountain gorillas of Rwanda.

With a degree in tourism and hospitality, his passion for technology and systems led to ten years of experience managing websites and booking software.

In 2023, he joined our team to manage our Tourplan booking systems, helping our travel experts create unique itineraries for our guests as smoothly as possible.

Ultimately, he enjoys the feeling of helping people from around the world to visit and experience the incredible variation of people, cultures, landscapes, and wildlife of the African continent.

Anri van der Merwe

Anri was born in South Africa and lived in Pretoria for twenty-nine years before moving to Somerset West in Cape Town in 2015.

Our team shares a love for travel and people, and Anri is no different. She has travelled to Germany, Singapore, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, and Lesotho.

Having earned a degree in Tourism Management and an Aviation Quality and Safety Officer diploma, she has held roles as an aviation quality and safety officer, a senior administrator, and a product manager.

In 2023, she joined our team, bringing a passion for systems and software. Although she doesn’t work directly with our guests, she enjoys liaising with our long-standing partners such as accommodations all across sub-Saharan Africa, creating systems that allow our country experts to design unique itineraries for our guests.

Born in Ladybrand, South Africa, he grew up in several towns across the country, studied in Cape Town, and also spent time living in Australia.

Before moving into IT, Theunis worked as a tour guide, leading group tours through many African countries, including Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

These experiences gave him a profound appreciation for Africa’s landscapes and cultures. His personal highlights include the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda, and the Garden Route in South Africa.

Theunis joined Africa-Experience, bringing with him a lifelong passion for technology and a deep love for travel.

As ICT Manager, Theunis enjoys combining his two passions: exploring new technologies and enhancing the travel experience, especially within Africa’s unique and ever-evolving context.

Daniel Schoerger

Daniel’s job as our General Manager is almost as diverse as his background. Growing up in Turkey and Germany, he moved to England before settling in South Africa. He studied Psychology at the University of Constance and completed his MBA at the University of Cape Town, worked in the film industry, as director of an NGO and Global HR manager at an international airline. Today, Daniel pulls the strings behind the scenes, aligning strategy with reality and translating it into our day-to-day business. Whenever he gets the chance, he escapes to Cape Town’s beaches and mountains or the remote Wild Coast.

Amy Adams

Amy was born and raised in Cape Town and has travelled extensively throughout Southern Africa. In 2019, she joined Africa-Experience as a reservationist, specialising in Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa. With her strong background in reservations, customer service, and operations, Amy transitioned to a new role in 2024. As the Assistant Operations Manager, Amy coordinates tours, manages logistics, and plays a key role in delivering exceptional services. She enjoys being part of a supportive team that creates seamless and memorable travel experiences for people from around the world. Alexandra Lindinger

Alexandra has been part of the team since 2011. Equipped with meticulous attention to detail and many years of experience, she stays on top of things even in the busiest times. She has travelled around Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia, and South Africa, visiting many lodges and camps. When climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Alexandra learned to respect the demanding trek up the highest mountain in Africa and is proud to have made it to Stella Point. As an animal lover and resolute advocate of animals’ rights, she cares deeply about Africa’s wildlife and promotes the values of sustainable tourism.

Marlene Tritschler

Marlene started working in the tourism industry in 2005 as a trainee for a small tour operator, specialising in trips to Southern and East Africa. Over the years she worked as a Sales and Product Manager, organising self-drive trips in Namibia, South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique as well as safaris in Botswana and Tanzania. On her visits to these countries she got to know the places, as well as the people, and is now one of our very experienced team members.

Mia Hald

As a tour guide for a Danish tour operator, Mia spent 10 years exploring Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, Europe, and China. After many years on the road, she is now an integral part of our office team of travel experts; her experience as a guide has taught her how important it is to communicate a clear picture of each trip to her guests. Passing on the joy of travel comes naturally to Mia as she loves spending time out and about in nature. She is a passionate photographer and will bring her camera wherever she goes.

Dirk Reiche

Dirk joined our team in 2023 after a diverse career as a chef, guide, marketing manager, and driving instructor. Born in Johannesburg, Dirk lived in Umhlanga near Durban in South Africa, Windhoek in Namibia, and Winterberg in Germany. His passion for Africa led him to travel through East Africa and Congo. Naturally, his path led him to become a guide for self-drive tours, travelling extensively throughout Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia, gaining proficiency as a level two off-roading instructor. His favourite places to recommend include the Skeleton Coast National Park for its allure of adventure and the Savuti in the Chobe National Park for incredible wildlife and stunning scenery. Jana Smith

Jana moved to South Africa with her family at the age of nine. Although she was born in Germany, she considers South Africa her home. She feels fortunate to have had a father who prioritised experiences over material possessions, taking the family on trips worldwide to create lasting memories. Thanks to this wonderful mindset, Jana has travelled to numerous countries. Despite her global travels, South Africa remains her favourite destination, as she has had many unforgettable road trips through its diverse and expansive landscapes. Manon Hartman

Since the early 2000s Manon has been part of the travel industry and still enjoys every day. Doing her bit to make our guests dream of travel in Africa come true, makes it a rewarding experience. As Reservations Manager, she leads our reservations team, staying on top of things even during the busiest of seasons. Originally Dutch but having lived most of her life in South Africa, she appreciates the country’s natural beauty and diversity. Whenever she can, she gets out to the beach to spend time by the ocean or exploring Cape Town.

Linda, born in Kenya and raised in Mombasa, joined our team in 2013 as an East African reservationist. With extensive travel experience in sub-Saharan Africa, she later expanded her focus to include southern African destinations like Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana. Linda enjoys working with a team to help guests plan their dream trips and loves organising every detail while deepening her knowledge of these regions. In 2024, Linda was promoted to Assistant Reservations Manager for South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. She supports the Operations and Reservations Managers by managing daily bookings, ensuring quality control, optimising resources, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Having travelled through Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, Alexander’s favourite destination is Namibia. He loves it for its dramatic contrasts and vast landscapes—from the wildlife-rich plains of Etosha National Park to the rugged Skeleton Coast.

Theunis Botha

Born in Ladybrand, South Africa, he grew up in several towns across the country, studied in Cape Town, and also spent time living in Australia.

Before moving into IT, Theunis worked as a tour guide, leading group tours through many African countries, including Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

These experiences gave him a profound appreciation for Africa’s landscapes and cultures. His personal highlights include the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda, and the Garden Route in South Africa.

Theunis joined Africa-Experience, bringing with him a lifelong passion for technology and a deep love for travel.

As ICT Manager, Theunis enjoys combining his two passions: exploring new technologies and enhancing the travel experience, especially within Africa’s unique and ever-evolving context.

Holger Wiebe

Holger has travelled the African continent since the mid-90s, not shying away from an adventure or three when navigating from one country to the next on foot, by bus, boat, overland-truck or plane. After founding a tour operating company in Germany, he quickly realised that the best way to ensure his guests experienced a safari of a lifetime, he would have to drive the safari himself. Walking the talk, he and his business partner Henning founded Tanzania-Experience in 2007. Followed by our offices in Namibia, South Africa, Kenya and Botswana. Holger’s knowledge from many years of travels and sales are the foundation for most of our travel experiences. Today, he manages our Africa-Experience sales and marketing office in South Africa.

Daniel Schoerger

Daniel’s job as our General Manager is almost as diverse as his background. Growing up in Turkey and Germany, he moved to England before settling in South Africa. He studied Psychology at the University of Constance and completed his MBA at the University of Cape Town, worked in the film industry, as director of an NGO and Global HR manager at an international airline. Today, Daniel pulls the strings behind the scenes, aligning strategy with reality and translating it into our day-to-day business. Whenever he gets the chance, he escapes to Cape Town’s beaches and mountains or the remote Wild Coast.

Alexandra Lindinger

Alexandra has been part of the team since 2011. Equipped with meticulous attention to detail and many years of experience, she stays on top of things even in the busiest times. She has travelled around Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia, and South Africa, visiting many lodges and camps. When climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Alexandra learned to respect the demanding trek up the highest mountain in Africa and is proud to have made it to Stella Point. As an animal lover and resolute advocate of animals’ rights, she cares deeply about Africa’s wildlife and promotes the values of sustainable tourism.

Marlene Tritschler

Marlene started working in the tourism industry in 2005 as a trainee for a small tour operator, specialising in trips to Southern and East Africa. Over the years she worked as a Sales and Product Manager, organising self-drive trips in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Mozambique as well as safaris in Botswana and Tanzania. On her visits to these countries she got to know the places, as well as the people, and is now one of our very experienced consultants.

Dirk Reiche

Dirk joined our team in 2023 after a diverse career as a chef, guide, marketing manager, and driving instructor. Born in Johannesburg, Dirk lived in Umhlanga near Durban in South Africa, Windhoek in Namibia, and Winterberg in Germany. His passion for Africa led him to travel through East Africa and Congo. Naturally, his path led him to become a guide for self-drive tours, travelling extensively throughout Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia, gaining proficiency as a level two off-roading instructor. His favourite places to recommend include the Skeleton Coast National Park for its allure of adventure and the Savuti in the Chobe National Park for incredible wildlife and stunning scenery. He is a natural people person, relishing the opportunity to share his knowledge of Africa with others, which will shine through when you contact Dirk. Dirk speaks English, German, Afrikaans and Funi-galore.

Liz Schoombee

Liz, born and raised in Namibia, has travelled extensively throughout the country. Her diverse background includes professional catering and preschool teaching. However, her passion for exploring new places, good food, photography, and seeking adventure led her to pursue a career as a travel expert for Namibia and Botswana. Liz joined us in 2024, and enjoys designing unique experiences for her guests, especially when they report that they have had a great time. Her favourite place to recommend is the Waterberg Plateau in Namibia during March when wildflowers bloom, and the landscapes are lush and green. She also loves the Caprivi (Zambezi Region), Victoria Falls, and the parks in Namibia and Botswana. As you will discover, Liz is a natural people person who goes the extra mile to ensure her guests enjoy unforgettable experiences. Liz speaks English, German and Afrikaans.

Manon Hartman

Since the early 2000s Manon has been part of the travel industry and still enjoys every day. Doing her bit to make our guests dream of travel in Africa come true, makes it a rewarding experience. As Reservations Manager, she leads our reservations team, staying on top of things even during the busiest of seasons. Originally Dutch but having lived most of her life in South Africa, she appreciates the country’s natural beauty and diversity. Whenever she can, she gets out to the beach to spend time by the ocean or exploring Cape Town.

Linda Schoerger

Linda, born in Kenya and raised in Mombasa, joined our team in 2013 as an East African reservationist. With extensive travel experience in sub-Saharan Africa, she later expanded her focus to include southern African destinations like Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana. Linda enjoys working with a team to help guests plan their dream trips and loves organising every detail while deepening her knowledge of these regions. In 2024, Linda was promoted to Assistant Reservations Manager for South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. She supports the Operations and Reservations Managers by managing daily bookings, ensuring quality control, optimising resources, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Linda also handles block bookings, maintains supplier relationships, and oversees team training. She is fluent in English, Swahili, and Luo.

Chanté Martinus

Chanté was born and raised in Cape Town and still lives in this beautiful region. She has travelled to Namibia and Mozambique; however, Botswana is at the top of her list of countries to visit.

Chanté joined our team in 2023 after working as an Accounts Assistant and a governmental Educator Assistant and Monitor, which complemented her degree in Political Studies.

She loves being part of a company that makes international guests’ dream experiences in southern Africa a reality. In particular, she enjoys the flexibility and creativity because each guest’s experience differs from the next.

She says, “We all look forward to our guests’ tour because we enjoy their experience from behind the scenes, knowing that they are having experiences that will live with them forever.”

Candice Benjamin

Candice is from Cape Town, a city renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

Before joining our team in 2024, she worked for the Department of Tourism and Development and managed her own telecommunications business.

Candice is passionate about travel and finds the tourism industry incredibly rewarding. Her favourite place is the Garden Route, known for its breathtaking scenery, charming towns, and natural beauty, making it an exceptional destination. Her passion for this region inspires her to promote travel experiences in South Africa.

Miriam Rix

Miriam is from the picturesque city of Cape Town, known for its stunning natural beauty, which includes its expansive oceans and majestic mountains.

She describes it as an incredible destination for its vibrant culture, characterised by a fantastic sense of humour, and its abundance of wine farms and delectable cuisine.

In 2024, she became a part of our team, bringing with her experience as a social media manager, business process outsourcing (BPO) trainer, and customer service agent.

One of the things Miriam finds most fulfilling in her role is creating unforgettable experiences for our guests at our exceptional destinations, where she constantly learns and discovers new things. She also takes pride in organising every last detail, knowing that seamless organisation leaves our guests free to savour the experience.

Lauren Hartman

Lauren was born and raised in Botswana but has lived in Cape Town since 2006.

She has travelled extensively in South Africa and Botswana and wants to explore East Africa, including the destinations we offer in Kenya and Tanzania.

In 2023, she joined our team to help with accounts administration while pursuing her degree in Consumer Science.

She finds working in tourism very interesting from an administrative point of view as we design unique experiences for a vast number of guests from around the world. Moreover, she finds working with our travel experts always motivating as it opens up more skills to learn, whether in our accounting or booking software management.

Arin Pieterse

Born and raised in Cape Town, Arin studied Tourism and has worked in the travel industry since 2017.

Arin’s favourite destination so far is the Garden Route, with its sweeping coastal scenery and charming towns. He has also enjoyed time at Kudu Private Game Reserve – an experience that deepened his appreciation for South Africa’s rich natural beauty.

Arin enjoys helping travellers bring their ideas to life and seeing how their journeys become “life-changing” when he reads our guests’ reviews.

Always eager to learn, he enjoys staying informed about the destinations we take our guests to, discovering new trends, and working with a motivated team.

Lerato Lukubane

Lerato, from East London, has lived in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, enriching her understanding of South Africa’s diverse landscapes and cultures.

She describes the Garden Route as her favourite place to visit, with its coastal beauty, scenic drives, and tranquil atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.

Lerato studied Travel & Tourism and Office Administration. Later, she built her career in the hotel industry and call centres before joining our team. She brings over a decade of experience in hospitality and customer service to her role.

As a reservations agent, Lerato enjoys turning ideas into once-in-a-lifetime journeys. She finds it especially rewarding to coordinate the finer details, solve last-minute challenges, and ensure seamless experiences.

Lerato speaks English and Xhosa and dreams of exploring Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.

Chante (Cee) Solomons

Born and raised in Cape Town, Cee has always called this vibrant coastal city, surrounded by mountains and ocean, her home.

Cee joined our team after working as a call centre agent in the Digital and Devices sector, where she developed excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

What excites Cee about working in travel and tourism is the opportunity to share the beauty of South Africa with people from around the world.

She values the supportive team spirit at Africa-Experience and enjoys playing a vital role in turning travel dreams into reality.

Gustavo Godoy

Gustavo, originally from Brazil, fell in love with Cape Town and decided to stay in 2007.

He has travelled extensively. His favourite destinations are Namibia, for its stunning scenery, and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, for its high concentration of wildlife in an incredible ecosystem. Yet, he still dreams of seeing the mountain gorillas of Rwanda.

With a degree in tourism and hospitality, his passion for technology and systems led to ten years of experience managing websites and booking software.

In 2023, he joined our team to manage our Tourplan booking systems, helping our travel experts create unique itineraries for our guests as smoothly as possible.

Ultimately, he enjoys the feeling of helping people from around the world to visit and experience the incredible variation of people, cultures, landscapes, and wildlife of the African continent.

Anri van der Merwe

Anri was born in South Africa and lived in Pretoria for twenty-nine years before moving to Somerset West in Cape Town in 2015.

Our team shares a love for travel and people, and Anri is no different. She has travelled to Germany, Singapore, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, and Lesotho.

Having earned a degree in Tourism Management and an Aviation Quality and Safety Officer diploma, she has held roles as an aviation quality and safety officer, a senior administrator, and a product manager.

In 2023, she joined our team, bringing a passion for systems and software. Although she doesn’t work directly with our guests, she enjoys liaising with our long-standing partners such as accommodations all across sub-Saharan Africa, creating systems that allow our country experts to design unique itineraries for our guests.

Grant Ross

Grant was born in South Africa and grew up in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Durban, and Cape Town.

His love for travel has taken him to England, Scotland, Singapore, Malaysia, China and numerous European countries. His most unforgettable experience in Africa was driving through Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Mauritius, which sparked his determination to explore more of Africa.

Grant joined our team in 2022 after a diverse career that included roles as a restaurant manager, credit manager, forensic auditor, and accountant for film shoots for commercial adverts.

He enjoys his role at Africa-Experience because he interacts with our team based in five different African countries.

He values being part of a close-knit team that helps people from around the world travel to Sub-Saharan Africa and aspires to explore all the destinations where we take our guests.
