Erick became a certified guide in 2017 and joined our team in 2022. He chose to be a guide because it allows him to be in nature and share experiences with people from around the world while learning from and sharing each other’s cultures. His favourite time in Tanzania’s national parks is the dry season, as he believes wildlife viewing is at its best, allowing for superb game drives.

Erick’s favourite park is Serengeti National Park due to its multiple habitats, high density of wildlife, and being home to the wildebeest migration, which he describes as the greatest wildlife migration on the planet. It is also an ideal place to see his favourite animals, the cheetah and the Secretary bird.

One of Erick’s most memorable moments as a guide was when he and his guests witnessed four lionesses encountering a honey badger. A fierce battle ensued for an hour, and against all odds, the honey badger succeeded in chasing the lionesses away. This moment taught Erick an important lesson: ‘No matter how big the problem is, it can be overcome with courage.’
